Jens Kollmar did his doctorate in 1998 under Peter Hommelhoff on a topic related to corporate transformation and associated tax law. He then spent several years with large international law firms in Frankfurt and New York working in M&A, restructuring and international tax. He followed this with a number of years with a firm of accountants, tax advisers and lawyers in Mannheim, where he handled mandates for corporate clients in these fields. He joined Schlatter as a partner in 2009.

He advises and represents companies and entrepreneurs in M&A transactions, restructuring and corporate succession, national and international tax. He also sits on advisory boards and acts as a liquidator.

Jens Kollmar is a professor for company and group law and lectures in international taxation at the Worms University of Applied Sciences. He also trains tax consultants and specialist lawyers. He is a member of the working party of specialist tax lawyers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Fachanwälte für Steuerrecht e.V.) and the Mannheim Bar Association.
